The Sydney Region event was held at the Powerhouse Museum on Monday the 19th of November, with Year 6 and 7 students competing from 71 schools.

The event was hosted by radio host and mathematical genius Adam Spencer and special guest was Lily Serna from the show, Letters and Numbers.

W Brooks from 7S represented Sylvania High in the Number Crunchers’ Competition and T Jeffrey from Year 9 recited Pi to 474 decimal places in the Golden Pi competition (2nd place). Well done to both boys!

Mr Taylor, HT of Mathematics at Sylvania High, is the creator of the competition and presented the trophies to the winning students on the day.
