Rules and Responsibilities

The code of conduct confers rights and responsibilities to students with the prime emphasis on the development of self-discipline.

RIGHTS

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • I have the right to be treated with respect and politeness
  • I have the responsibility to treat others with politeness and respect and to behave so that the community will be proud of the school.
  • I have the responsibility to respect the authority of teachers.
  • If necessary I should be able to disagree without being offensive.
  • I have the right to be safe and happy and to be treated with understanding.
  • I have the responsibility not to interfere with the safety of others and to treat them with understanding.
  • I have the right to obtain the maximum benefit from all lessons.
  • I have the responsibility to take full advantage of lessons and not to interfere with other students’ right to learn.
  • I have the right to be helped to learn self-control.
  • I have the responsibility to develop self-control.
  • In exercising my rights I should not interfere with the rights of others.
  • I have the right to expect my property to be safe.
  • I have the responsibility not to steal, damage or destroy the property of others.
  • I have the right to enjoy pleasant, clean and well-maintained school buildings and grounds.
  • I have the responsibility to care for the school environment – to help to keep it clean and tidy.

Respect

  •  Be honest and fair. 
  • Be polite and courteous.
  • Respect the rights of others to learn.
  • Respect the rights of teachers to teach.
  • Respect the rights of all other staff and helpers at our school.
  • Respect the property of others and the school.

Responsibility

  • Attend school and be on time. 
  • Be ready to learn all you can. 
  • Bring equipment. 
  • Be in full school uniform. 
  • Follow the school policy on the use of personal belongings eg. ipods, MP3 players. 
  • Mobile phones off and out of sight.

  • Safety in school environment.
  • Safety when travelling to and from school.
  • A strong, positive and supportive learning environment.
